Spiced beef salad

Preparation: less than 30 mins
Cooking time: less than 10 mins
Serves 1

Ingredients

  • 300g/12oz T-bone steak, bone removed
  • 1 tsp Cajun spice seasoning
  • 1 tbsp olive oil, plus extra for drizzling
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • small handful each fresh chervil, basil and parsley
  • 2 tsp balsamic vinegar
  • squeeze lime juice

Method

  1. Rub the steak with the Cajun spice and drizzle with oil. Heat a frying pan until smoking hot, add the steak and sear on all sides for 2-3 minutes.

  2. Add the garlic and fry for one minute. Remove from the heat and leave to rest for five minutes. Slice thinly.

  3. To serve, pile the herbs onto a serving plate. Top with the sliced steak and drizzle with balsamic vinegar, lime juice and a dash of olive oil.
